High-end television sets are increasingly overrun with gimmicky hardware—gesture control remotes come to mind—that few people need and even fewer want. But Sony's latest Bravia flagship does only what a TV should do—and does it better than any other LED. Thank goodness.

Yeah, I don’t need all those bells and whistles; I just need a good basic TV that isn’t going to cost an arm and a leg. Thanks for the link and info, this looks like exactly what I’m looking for, for the family room set. I keep hearing good things about Sony’s TVs too. In fact, one of my coworkers at DISH is constantly raving about his. Right now I’m looking to buy two new TVs since I’m finally getting a Hopper whole-home DVR. It’ll send all my HD channels to every room, so I’m anxious to upgrade the last few standard definition TVs we have. Ever since we upgraded half of our rooms to HD, the family always seems to end up fighting over the TVs in those two rooms. After I have the new televisions and the Hopper in my house, that won’t be a problem anymore.
